Introduction to Digital Tachograph Training:

Now is the time to plan for the introduction of digital tachographs particularly if you are expecting delivery of new trucks or buses (or may hire them) or if you are planning to utilise the benefits digital tachographs bring.

To assist you with this, Thetford Transport Training are offering digital tachograph training as of the 1st March 2006, offering the usual seven-day “on site” service.

All Operators and drivers will need to be ready to use digital tachographs in new Lgv`s and Pcv`s as from May 5th 2006.and although many companies will not have vehicles fitted with digital tachographs from this date, hire vehicles may, therefore drivers will need to have a smart card and understand their obligations.

This effects all drivers and operators of “in scope” vehicles that weigh 3.5 tons and over including any passenger vehicle with more than nine seats.
